We’re excited to announce the official launch of the brand-new Fender American Rustic Ash series, a quartet of Strat and Tele models with cool weathered exteriors and high-output Texas Special pickups for classic bluesy tone. Those of you who are fans of “faded” Fender finishes will love the look, feel and sound of these special-edition guitars. Check out our Rustic Ash Telecaster in striking Sonic Blue and Butterscotch Blonde and our Rustic Ash Stratocaster in Surf Green and Olympic White.

The satin lacquer finish really sets off the visible wood grain on these Rustic Ash bodies, giving them a subtle “picket fence” aesthetic. They also feature aged white parts and brown anodized aluminum pickguards, among other details, that add to the old-school, worn-and-weathered vibe.

Feel free to browse the American Rustic Ash page and tell us what you think!

Brad thanks for posting. Those are great looking, I always liked the look of the grain of ash! And throwing in the Texas Specials into the Strat version was a great choice, love those pickups!

Why not making a Rustic Ash Jazz Bass in Sunset Orange Transparent fitted with a set of Custom Shop 60's Jazz pickups?

+10000!

A matching set of Precision and Jazz Basses would be a treat! Sunset Orange with rosewood neck and Teal Green with maple. 8) ! Both transparent finishes.

That Oly White finish looks great in this photo!

It's Surf Green, not Olympic White.

One thing I hate in the Rustic Ash series is that murky brown anodized guard.

I'm very displeased not seeing a matching pair of bass guitars.

You're not alone!

I too like everything on that twangbeast - except the hideous brown anodized pickguard which needs to be replaced with a better-looking 1-ply beveled black vinyl.

Doctor my eyes...
I saw the surf green more pronounced on the link that Brad
posted - must be the lighting...yeah...that's it. :D

The Olympic White Strat came with a rosewood fingerboard.

If you want this guitar with a maple fretboard, just swap necks.

Personally I find these guitars eye-catching (especially the rustic ash's grain which is VERY attractive :P ) but I would change the pickguard, which is too ugly-looking in my taste.

Nice, but I agree with most of the guys here about the pickguard. Need something else besides the brown.
