I received my Martin omcpa4 rosewood from sweetwater, for the past month
I had been testing out acoustics from Gibson, Taylor, Martin, Takamine,
Yamaha, epophone ... I have a Yamaha dreadnaught F735 that rings really nice,
However the wood is cheap, thin. It's my beat around take outside to
BBQs. I wanted an acoustic electric in the 900-1500.
I had narrowed my choices down to a Taylor 214ce playability and tone
Were great, and the Martin omcpa4 sapele and RW

I went with this one;

Is it safe to plug in to my DRRI or do need an
Acoustic amp?

Beautiful, Congrats. They didn't have the Rosewood model when I bought my OMCPA4, mine's Sapele. Wait till the top breaks in, you'll love it even more. The necks on these thing are incredible. I've been eyeballing the Performing Artist 12 string.

It's fine to plug it into a guitar amp. I have a Fishman Loudbox Mini acoustic amp. The problem I had with a guitar amp was it didn't sound like an acoustic to me. My Loudbox has a balanced output for a PA system, so in louder situations, I run it through the PA and use the amp as a monitor. It's a great sounding amp that's not loaded down with a bunch of amp models or cheesy effects, just pure acoustic tone.
Works out great for me.

See how you like it. Acoustic amps are just more tailored to acoustic guitars. The EQ is better at controlling feedback and the speakers are more voiced for acoustics.

You may like the sound through your DRRI. Just try it and see how it works out for you, it won't hurt a thing.

The Fishman Performer and Artist are even nicer. The Mini is a great grab and go amp. It has a microphone channel too. Try one out in person if you can.

Very Nice !!

I've heard several of the Fishman Loudbox series amps and they are everything the reviews say they are.

But, I love the sound of my Martin through the Clean on my Peavey Delta Blues 115 as well.

While not a 100% pure reproduction, it's very close and has a very nice sound of it's own.

Congrats again !

cheers!

Wise decision 8) Great guitar. I have been testing a couple different Taylors (should have never let my Taylor 410 go) but I have been liking the tone of the 1 series over the 2 series from Taylor...but I may have to check out the tone to this sweet looking Martin :!:

+1!

This guitar has strong Taylor influences still retaining that traditional Martin look and feel!

Why not plugging the Martin into a PA console?
