I realize that color is a matter of personal taste and everyone has different tastes, but I can't imagine there will be a lot of takers on the Burgundy Mist Metallic.

As for the Black with Mint Green pick guard, I wish it were available in SSS a couple of years ago when I got my American Deluxe.

Cheers!
BM

p.s. Is it just my monitor, or is the Fiesta Red more of an orange than red?

Doesn't matter, it'll look different in-person.

Come to think of it, it is kind of disappointing how further and further these guitars are getting from the originals. 11-hole pickguard but with a 22-fret maple neck, N3 pickups with S-1 switching, contoured heel, 2-screw bridge, non-vintage-style tuners, etc. etc. And these guitars are commanding the same price as the old American Vintage line. The new American Vintage line, though redesigned, has a marked $500 increase for anyone who wants vintage-correct specs.

As another example, have a look at this thing. What is going on lately?? Image

Again, I do appreciate that color is a matter of personal taste but I'm with you Tornado and find it hard to believe that this color combination is going to be among the more popular. One has to ask what kind of market research was done and who did it. ... Then again, maybe I'm just getting old, less flexible, and more set in my ways?

    Cheers!

Actually it's the only colour up there that is even remotely interesting, IMO. At least is something reasonably different from white, black, red & sunburst, which is all we ever seem to see lately. The surf and orange are also OK but at least the burgundy is a little more out of the ordinary.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I thought it was ugly the first time I saw it. But it grew on me. It's very quirky and different, and I kinda like it. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea though.

Now that is a beautiful guitar, IMO. I would want it with a rosewood neck.

This guitar also exists with a rosewood fretboard, available in Olympic White.

If you're fond of that Surf Green Rustic Ash with a rosewood neck, just swap necks. :P

That red looks beautiful. Still waiting for new MIM colors, I barely have $100 let alone $1500 to get one of these.

I think many people have wanted the U.S. Deluxe series to have minimal visable upgrades, myself included.

People who want attractive colours in a USA made guitar really do need to pay top dollar for it these days eh.. If we all were on that board of decision makers, the US Standard & Deluxe lineup would look waaaaay different.. Irony is that we are the ones buying the stuff

I like the rustic ash Tele, but still-

yawn. :|
