hello ,I live in a border city, i am canadian and am thinking of buying a guitar in the US. Has anyone ever had problems with this, other then the fact of having to pay duty on the guitar at Canadian customs.(example- returns/repairs, etc.)

I'm a yank that's done the reverse. I've bought a few guitars from The 12th Fret in Toronto. The only hassle is the time it can get held up in customs. My last cross border purchase took over two weeks to make it thru customs. Lost paperwork and no one would admit who lost it.

If you are buying a made in US or Mexico Fender I don't think you would have to pay duty. I might be wrong but the NAFTA agreement says that if you buy any products made in North America, you don't pay duty.

I have not bought any of my instruments corss border yet.
