I have been taking time to explore other on-line guitar lesson websites, and I have found jamplay.com to be the one I like best. I have found I am learning way faster by having an instructor show how it's done rather than reading books about it until I am blue in the face.
I have one lesson I am taking a little more time to work on because the exercise I am learning,...well,...still needs some work. It's a single string picking exercise that also involves using your fretting hand. I pick with my right hand and fret with my left hand,...so yeah,...I am right handed. Anyway,it is coming along and with practice I am noticing my speed and technique is improving a little bit at a time. The instructor I am learning from is Brad Henecke,...he teaches at a pace that is comfortable for me,...not too fast and not too slow. I am on Phase 1 for beginners. Yes,it does involve a subscription which is renewable either monthly, quarterly,or yearly,...but to me I feel I am getting my money's worth and can do my lessons when schedule permits,...anytime of the day that is most convenient for me,especially since I work a rotating schedule. I am happy that I am ACTUALLY learning something for a change and getting my money's worth. I love jamplay.com! Speaking of practicing,...I best get off here and do that!
I highly recommend jamplay.com for people starting out on guitar! :D :D
