I just noticed on the Pro Audio Land website that they're offering another Fender Summer Boom Rebate. I went over to AMS (where I typically like to shop because of their payment plans) and didn't see this. I wonder what's up? This would be VERY good, indeed, since as soon as my Passport 500 is paid off (in August!) I'll be able to shop for a new bass guitar.

My Guitar Center monthly newsletter/catalog arrived in yesterday's mail. They are advertising the Fender Summer Sonic Boom featuring a $100 or $50 instant rebate on some Fender guitars and amps. No dates listed, but I guess it starts now or at least July 1 and continues through summer again. Musicians Friend is having a 5-10-15% off sale through July 4 but not advertising the Sonic Boom, wonder if they will let you combine the two?

I don't know, but knowing them, probably not. It would be nice if they did, though. I'm pretty sure Brad, or somebody that works here will probably post something pretty soon. This would be very cool, indeed. They had it extended last year, so hopefully they'll have it going at least until the end of August or even September. I could use the discount, since I'm not rolling in cash right now.

As usual FENDER gear is NOT eligible for the 5-10-15% off sale at Musicians Friend. Their "coupons" and discount codes NEVER work on Fender stuff. Sometimes they will have a Fender item on the Stupid Deal of the Day...but never do the coupons or codes work for Fender stuff.

When you look at the exclusions on this coupon code, or any of their coupon codes, not much is left to actually get a break on. Here are the exclusions:

65amps, A Designs, Adam Audio, Akai Professional, AKG, Alesis, Allen & Heath, Alto, Alvarez, American Audio, American DJ, Ampeg, Antelope Audio, Antoine Courtois Paris, Aphex, Apogee, Apple, Armstrong, ART, Arturia, Audio-Technica, Audix, Auralex, Avalon, Avanti, Avid, Azumi, B&S, B3 Guitars, Bach, Bad Cat, BAM, Beatkangz, Beats by Dre, Bedell, Behringer, Belkin, Benchmark, Benchmark Media Systems, Benedetto Guitars, Besson, Bixonic, BLACK CAT PEDALS, Blackheart, Blackstar, Blue, Bogner, Bosch, Bose, Boss, Breedlove, Bricasti, Brio, BSS Audio, Buffet Crampon, Bugera, Bundy, Carl Martin, Casio, Cerwin-Vega, Chameleon Labs, Chandler Limited, Charvel, Chauvet, Cleartone, Cloud, Conn, Cordoba, Courtois, Crate, Crown, CUSACK EFFECTS, Daking, Dangerous Music, DBX, Dean, Death By Audio, DIAMOND PEDALS, Digitech, DLS EFFECTS, Drawmer, Dunnett, DW, EBS, Eden, Edirol, Elation, Electro- Harmonix, Electro-Voice, Elysia, Emerson, EMG, Eminence, Emma Electronic, Empirical Labs, Empress Effects, Engl, Epiphone, ESP, Euphonix, Eventide, EVH, F. I think more things are excluded than included and about anything worth having is on the excluded list. Acoustic Amp or Rogue guitar anyone? Didn't think so. Why don't they just list the brands the code works for? Would probably be a very short list.

LOL! Just for kicks, without reading the list of excluded brands, I tried to think of a familiar name that would qualify. Failed to come up with a single one! When I found I couldn't even get a discount on a Selmer trumpet, I gave up.

Sam's $@!, I mean Sam Ash does the same thing. They'll have similar coupons, yet the majority of their products aren't even eligible. It's like, what's the point? I don't understand why these brands even have a tizzy over these things, don't they already make money before the dealer gets the gear at their cost? The only thing I know is the dealer cost is a lot cheaper than what you pay for it. I used to jam with this dude that worked for a music store and he was going to get me some stuff at his cost. This was 20 years ago, so I don't know if things are different now.

Well, just got the AMS email and I noticed it on the website here. I PAL was early with the offer.

GC has the same exclusions, but if you call them or go into the store and talk to someone, they will usually honor the discount. At least they have for me. I doubt they would double down with both deals though.

Of course, AMS got rid of the 8 Pay plan now, since the discount took place. Bastards. That's OK, zZounds now has 8 and even 10 payments. I could get an American Fender for $115-$118 a month, which I can manage. I like this, because I can play while I pay and don't have to wait a long time to save up.
