Is that what "I Don't Wanna Go Down To The Basement is written about?

As long as the urine on the floor did not exceed the thickness of ones shoe sole, it was all good.

That was a song written by The Ramones at the end of their career. It was on the unreleased tracks compilation.

For reference-

I remember on a few occasions when the place was really packed you couldn't even step off that last step at the bottom.

Here's a great video that was taken inside the club covering just about everything, including the bathrooms with dry floors.

Brings back many good memories of the club.

Lemmy owns the nicest Rickenbacker I've seen. It probably has the cooties, though.

Hope he's ok.

NY Stan ! ! !! Thanks for sharing the CBGB's clip! You know how I found out they closed? I got to be an audience member on Saturday Night Live . . . . And the weekend update segment acknowledged that they closed that same day (after making a joke about the restroom)

reno2atlanta, glad you liked the video. Many tried to prevent the club from being closed even trying to get landmark status but everything failed. Such a shame.

Funny you mentioned SNL. I used to work at NBC studios way back. I used to watch them rehearse the SNL skits during the week. Always enjoyed the show especially when they couldn't hold in the laugh when they had to say there lines.

I feel like this band's style is exactly like this whole album. They just have those kind of heavy, yet upbeat and almost meaningless and kinda confusing songs that are catchy and fun?

Anyways, I feel like they're amazing cause of that. Love their style.

Went to a few summer all ages matinee shows at CB's in the 80s. With the place full of sweating punkers and the AC not really working and the humidity and the slam dancing, steam started coming off of people's bodies and the walls themselves started sweating.

Good times.

I've been lucky enough to smell a couple shows like that.

I frequent a hole in the wall that's about 20 min from my house.
