I'm sure this will do very good business for Fender.

Just wondering though, as this puts Fender in direct competition with people like Warmoth, Mighty Mite, Allparts and other manufacturers, will FMIC start limiting the ability of those companies to produce licensed parts? I'm thinking about the recent disappearance of all Gibson-style parts from the Warmoth site, surely it can't be in the interests of FMIC to allow competitors to produce cheaper licensed copies of a product?

Brad, I would suggest adding Blacktop Strat bodies and necks to the product line. This would give customers a lower cost choice for a Strat that would accommodate humbuckers in any position. And, the Blacktop necks would give customers the option of buying a lower cost 22-fret neck.

I bought a Blacktop Strat during the sale earlier this year just to use a parts source, primarily the neck, but would've considered just buying the neck if it had been available separately...

I've been wanting to build my own guitar for years now. Using genuine Fender parts to build my Telly will be great.

It would be col to be able to totally customize a fender neck. Example- The pao ferro, SRV profile and a reverse headstock. I'd pay whatever to feel like I work for the custom shop by getting to design my own though current offerings.

I could think of all kinds of stuff they could put out, especially from their back catalog.

I was thinking "How about no color, paint or finish? -- just plain wood."
I'd like to custom paint a body without having to strip off unwanted paint.

With respect to those companies, because they do make quality products. Even licensed necks and bodies doesn't mean they have anything to do with Fender. It simply means that Fender allow them to carve to exactly the same dimensions as Fender products.
And someone please educate me on the whole license thing. But don't these other companies have to pay a fee to Fender to use those measurements?
If so, Fender could quite easily control market price and competition by putting the rent up.

Dunno that's all supposition on my part.

Anyway, I think having the opportunity to buy genuine Fender parts with the magic logo on is a wonderful idea. I'm fully prepared to pay the premium for the logo. To the point that the freshly repaired Blackstar is going on ebay to fund a lefty tele neck so I can make my Baja Tele look a bit like Billy Gibbons guitar.

I'd like to see more options, and maybe a customization system, price based on options. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer Kluson tuners. They wrap and turn easier.

$500 for a neck that's the equivalent of a HWY 1 or so is a bit steep. You can pick them up on ebay for $250-$350 all day long.

Another vote for a flatter neck radius. And I mean much flatter, like 14" bare minimum. Better yet, 16" or 18". Or even dead flat. I recommend this especially for the Jazz bass, whose pickup pole pieces are not adjustable to compensate for the uneven saddle heights required to accommodate the tight radius you're running today. Playability would go up a few notches, too.

Thank you for offering these parts.

How about selling replacement necks for American Deluxe/Plus/Boner bass guitars?

I would love to see different neck profiles offered, particularly a V neck. And nitro finishes.

A fretless Am. Deluxe Jazz would be tempting.

Something else I'll add to the request list: Would you guys PLEEEEASE swap the P pickup halves' locations. Similar to the Hoppus but don't send the pair up toward the neck the way that model does; leave the pair where it is. It will add beef to the top two strings and definition to the bottom two. This really should have been done long ago. I think a parts body would be a great way to introduce this new/proper configuration. You may be surprised at the uptake.
