Good, Good Lovin' by James Brown comes to mind. I'll Go Crazy by JB also.

The Outsiders did a sloppy cover of it on a live album.

Drummer Clyde Stubblefield and Guitarist Jimmy Nolen - funky boom!

About 50 Nirvana songs (or covers done by them), SRV's instrumental cover of Little Wing, all Santana instrumentals and several of his other songs, and this particular rendition of "Ain't No Sunshine":

Gee whiz, make fun of The Outsiders, will you..?

My all-time favorite song since the day I first heard it:

Time Won't Let Me by The Outsiders

My # 2 favorite is Turn On Your Love Light - the version by The Human Beinz

What can I say? I'm old school.

The one tune that comes to mind for me, is Carlos Santana's incredible instrumental tune called "Europa".

This song just speaks to you. Carlos Santana's sound is famous and legendary for that "sustain-for-days" singing guitar tone! 8)

A lot of songs by the usual suspects: Hendrix, Sabbath, Santana, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. But two lesser known songs that really stand out in my mind are both by The Cult: Nirvana, and She Sells Sanctuary.

+1000

I'd add only "The Animal Trainer And the Toad" and "Crossroader" to the Mountain sub-set.

Great selections all, Mr. Nylon!

The only music you won't hear on the "oldies" stations, Motown Soul, Philly Soul, Chicago Soul, Memphis Soul, West Coast/Blue Eyed Soul. I loved the rock and roll music of the '50s '60s and '70s as much as the soul/ R&B/blues music. You have to mix them together if really want to feel that vibe from those days. All of the music everyone has posted I like. So, yes Derek there are many songs that I hear. Here is one for you:

Little Wing by Hendrix or the Corrs.
Last Days of May & Astronomy -Blue Oyster Cult
Billericay Dickey - Ian Dury
Highway '49 -Howling Wolf & Muddy Waters
Redemption Song - Bob Marley
Echoes - Pink Floyd

In fact hearing just about anything by the above artists leaves me wanting more.
