Magic? Witchcraft?

Post them to a site like photobucket and link to them here.

Who you buy from makes a big difference. My first Strat came damaged and was replaced immediately, no questions asked. It sounds like the shop you bought from was trying to minimize their exposure rather than provide you with good service. I'm sure their spin on things had a lot to do with Fender taking their side. I'll be sure not to shop in Northern Sacramento.

I wish you would name this triple-A rated authorized repair facility.

I have plenty of friends in Sacramento plus my own bass-player brother lives there and I'd like to let them all know about the......remarkable......service you received. That said, Skip's Music on Auburn still has a pretty decent shop. And they are a Fender-franchised dealer.

I had the same issue on my 60's CP. I bought it for a steal on CL, and the problem was easily fixed with a little superglue. I just dabbed the end of a toothpick in the superglue until I got enough in there, and applied pressure for a few min until it would hold on it's own. I let it cure overnight then put the neck back on the next day. Have not had an issue since. I'm not saying your not screwed on your warranty, but perhaps you could fix it on your own if nobody else will.

One can understand, some claims can turn
ugly and be dissapointing.

Now, your description of that guitar tech,
sounds like he is a complete fool.
...Hard to put your guitar in a tech´s hands,
even claiming to be certified.
Ah, crap. I have to drive 300 miles to get decent work done,
and the tech has a waiting list. Sucks.

I'm kinda leaning toward the chrisconsin way of thinking on this. Communications don't often get cut off with a large company like FMIC or any other large company while there's still an issue in play. Something tells me there's more to this than the OP is letting on.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

...and here I thought you hated me!

That's tough to see on such a nice guitar. I'm wondering if it was an extreme change in temperature or something about how it was kept/shipped.

Does the glue eventually eat away at the finish?

Hi nuttster6544 (and everbody),

Well, in this case there are at least three sides to the story it looks like. With the information that was posted I was able to gather what i believe to be the info on this issue.
To summarize it and put it as simply as i can, it appears that the first body did indeed delaminate, and that it was indeed a manufacturing defect and so of course we replaced the body. I'll also interject that I'm not happy about how long this all took to happen.

It appears that the disagreement now...is where the chips under the pickguard ocurred, as to whether that happened at the hands of the service guy, or at your own hands when you took it off to check the wiring out. Obviously, I have no idea and couldn't tell you one way or the other.
The intimation you are making is that we don't stand by our customers. I tend to disagree with that, starting with the fact that you are posting freely and openly on a Forum provided by Fender itself. Also because my main gig is to make sure that we do take care of our customers as reasonably as we possibly can.
At any rate, if there is still an issue here, I'm perfectly happy to see if there is anything that we can do to correct it and make it right if it is wrong, nuttster6544.
If you'd like, you can send me a PM and give me the pertinent info---like serial number and your name and stuff, and I'll see what I can do.
Other than that, I apologize that your experience was less than steller....certainly not how we like it to go down.

All the best,
rob

Not so far. That poly paint is pretty thick. I used a small amount, and none touched the finish, just a bit between the wood, and the lifted poly paint...good as new. Did that repair about 6 months ago, I see no issue, and you would never know where the poly lifted if you didn't know where it was before.
