Took nearly 40 takes. He kept putting the bridge and the intro in the wrong part of the song, or would just plain out miss strokes.
He wanted to learn Pinhead, and I know both drum and guitar parts like the back of my hand.

I enjoyed the hell out of it, though, and I guess it feels good to teach a kid something, but I used the same tough love my drummer used on me 3 years ago.

A few slight mess ups, and a few times where I had to cut out crashes to save his $@! with timing, other than that I feel we did well.

We'll get better as time goes on.

I even let him use the Guild.

I thoroughly enjoyed that! :D I like the guitar and the tone you used for this song. Nice job.

It's refreshing to see someone not say "yeah I did this in one take really fast, and I was really tired, and the sun was in my eyes, etc". If you're going to record, might as well take the time to do get it right. 40 takes means you cared.

Good and steady. You guys have something. Get to where you can play like that all the time..and find a bassist that'll stay out of your way.

We've tried many bassists. only solution is to get my drummer on board with this guy on vox/bass. (out of the both of us, I have the most guitar experience)

It was 40 takes because of a lot of messups. Remember, I just taught the kid the guitar part 20 minutes prior to this final take (we ran through so many, some of them even having messups as a little as 10 seconds in)

Teaching this kid riffs can be a major pain in the $@!, but it's worth it.

And it's far from right.

The first second is a messup. That's the verse riff he played, not the intro. As soon as I heard it, I shot him a death glare

It's a rough take, but it's the best of the lot. Free jams are much better.

D.U.M.B Everyones accusing me!!!

Good work. Too many up strokes on the guitar. Drums were spot on, 16ths on the high hat all the way through. Brilliant. You would not believe how many drummers can't do that one song after the other. It's a skill to discipline yourself to stick to that.

Johnny Ramone secret 1. Use open E shaped barre chords to accentuate bass strings, use open A shaped barre chords to accentuate treble strings.

This guy from Chicago, Marky Kobane is the master of that now that Johnnys gone.

The album only costs $5 on Bandcamp and is well worth every penny.

I can't do Pinhead in all downstrokes on guitar, yet I can play it perfectly on drums. I can't do Rock N Roll Radio on drums, but can do it all downstrokes on guitar. It's strange as $@!&.

I think Woodyamsterdam is a master of downstrokes.

Check out his YT channel. Watching him play is so much more reliable than tabs.

Lol, Floyd, if I die in a horrible golf accident, find my mom on FB and ask her to send it to you. Show her this post.
