I was lucky to had seen Van Halen in 1983 at the US Festival , when I was stationed in California . That was one of the best concerts I had ever been to and I'll never forget as long as I'll live. That's when they were in their prime.

I never saw Van Halen in the band's heyday but I did check them out last year when they came to Buffalo.

I thought it was a remarkable show. Eddie's playing was amazing. Dave's voice was struggling a little bit in spots, but overall he did a great job.

And the three Van Halens playing/singing together sounded very, very tight! Again, I never saw them with Michael Anthony, but I can't imagine how it would've been much better with him. I'm not that big a fan of bass solos, for one. :)

The light show they're using in Japan is unreal. It's kind of like a giant Lite Brite..but diamond shaped, and they're in the middle of it. Then, there's the 50 yard jumbotron behind the band with visual special effects. There's also a whole lotta Fender lined up on that stage..

Dave's in top form nowadays. He's got the band whipped into great shape.

I very much agree with this.

Jump and Eruption are undoubtedly the most successful songs from that album to date.

Jump wasn't on their debut album. It was 1984.

Couple of good tracks on 1984, but mostly filler, like so many others.

The Live Without A Net solo, really that whole video, is the other Van Halen in top form. One of my favorites.

EVH had greatly contributed to the successful development of the Floyd Rose locking tremolo.
