I didn't even know they were still around.. Perhaps thats why they haven't been in my neck of the woods for a long time :)

It's too bad that they don't have Michael Anthony, though. Not to discount his son, at all. I always felt he was a big part of their original classic sound. I guess you can't expect people to get along, or whatever even though you might of liked what they did at the time.

To me, it's not the same without Michael Anthony on Bass and background vocals. Besides, I thought Eddie was too busy being a businessman with his EVH company.

I didn´t know Michael Anthony had left.
And I´ve always missed David man.
So I didn´t follow Van-Hagar.
But Eddie rules, last I heard he got good and strong
and yeah people say he´s awesome on stage again!

You should have seen them in the 70,s. IMO they haven't been nearly as good since. I completely lost interest after Dave left the first time.

I seriously doubt they're at their peak now. I won't get into the Sammy vs Dave argument but regardless who's on pipes VH will never even be good let alone awesome as long as Eddie's micro-managing everything. Same thing happened to Tom Scholz. The tighter you grasp the sand the faster it falls through your fingers.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Van Halen, for me, is same category as The Who and Rolling Stones: can't think of any songs I'd want to hear. Have limited time for listening. No time for these bands to fit in.

You guys gotta check out the latest show at the Tokyo Dome. Iconic show..

I'm also requesting Fender to put out a mass production Wolfgang Bass(new design, like his dad's).

I always try to stick with the "if you don't have something good to say, don't say anything" adage. I'm going to bend that thought just a little. I saw Van Hagar and enjoyed the show. David Lee Roth was always a cheap imitation of Jim "Dandy" Mangrum IMHO YMMV (IMHO YMMV is a quote from my favorite Martian). I hope that wasn't terrible. To be respectful there were a few Van Halen songs that rocked and I thank them for those.
