Tonight I sold my Guild D-15M and I am now feeling sellers remorse. Bought it new in 1985. Never played it that much but I'll miss her. Got a good price and the kid that bought it teaches songwriting so at least she went to a good home. :(

YU FUUL... !!

A 1 owner Guild from 1985 is more than a guitar... it's an Heirloom !

Still... if you needed to sell it... well done you !

Cheers!

Biggest regret ever - trading my '77 Guild maple jumbo 12 for an electric guitar and amp.

I have never gotten rid of a piece of gear either by selling it or trading it without getting a horrendous case of seller's remorse which intensified over the years rather than fade. A few months back I sold my lovely Blues Jr. so I could buy the AC-15 I've lusted for since 1964.I don't feel sellers remorse for that because I sold it to Blinkers and I get first dibs if he ever decides to sell it.Other than the B.Jr. I vowed to never sell or trade another bit of gear unless something ridiculously rare comes up at an unbelievably low price.I've always loved the sound of a Dreadnaught bodied Guild they have so much presence and projection.

I'm not feeling remorseful anymore. I have older, better and more valuable acoustic guitars than the lower level Guild I sold. Real nice guitar, I just never took to the all mahogany construction of the Guild. Just had it a long time is all. Maybe I need another Stratocaster. :)

Every time I begin to think that it might be time to "thin the herd" or sell off pedals I never use, I think back to the time I sold all my gear from high school. Nearly 40 years later it still haunts me so I never sell anything.

With that said, I gave away an old guitar that wasn't quite right for me. A co-worker's daughter has it now and she loves it. Dad is shopping for a new amp this weekend so she can take lessons this summer. I feel pretty good about that one.

I occassionally think about selling my Guild Starfire IV which I bought new in '66. I have a lot of emotional attachment to it, but I really never play it. I'm not real big on keeping things that I don't use. I'd rather see it go to someone that can use it than to see it sit in a closet.

A friend of mine bought a American vintage jaguar and sold me his minty, minty Dipinto Galaxie 4 with case (not a gig bag) for what I sold the Guild for. Can't wait for that pink sparkle beauty to arrive from Florida. One door closes and another opens. :D
