Like I always say...'different strokes'. Fender keeps testing the waters. Somethings have longevity, others not. I'm sure there's a laundry list of guitars we wish they had not discontinued and an equal number we wish they'd never bothered with. The beat goes on.

I like the Flame Orange even though it looks more red than orange in the pics I've seen. Also, I prefer a maple fingerboard not rosewood.

In any case, I'm still looking for a 12-string and a baritone in that order.

I like the Arizona Sun and the Flame Orange (which I agree, looks more red than orange)...I like the Telecasters better than the Strats, because of the black pickguard/pickup covers/knobs on the Strats.

All in all, I think it's a cool new series of guitars.

Personally, I don't like them because of the black pickguard. The only Fender guitar that needs a black pickguard is the yellowish Tele like the one Keith Richards has.

I gotta disagree with you there too M1KE, sorry.

Me, too. My Black Strat has a black pickguard, and I LOVE the look of it. The metal screw heads and chrome p/u covers just set it off, big time.

I don't like them. The reason I say this is the last run of satin finishes never wowed me either and for me, it's the black pickguard and HH config, also they sat in my local music store for ages..I wonder why they didn't release them as gloss colours. Fender would sell more of them.

Are these a thin finish or a thick polyester?

I'm not down with the color schemes. They do look like what's going on today with pop culture, though. You see similar one's on American Idol.

I'll have to check them out, but usually I don't like the satin.

I don't usually like the black pickguards either.

Never bought a guitar for how it looked, color etc. if it plays great and sounds great it's a keeper. Once I have them I take care of them, but the finish won't make a difference unless you're Eric Johnson. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The 'coppertop' battery people will certainly second that.

I must be specific in my thoughts on a Satin Finish. I very much like a satin finish, but only if the top clear coat is Satin over the color coat. I do not like a color satin finish with no clear coat.
