Yeah,...I know I need to get some practice time in,...been a little lax in that dept. since it has been so nice outside lately,...and when it's nice outside,I usually like to be out fishing,...my other hobby,...but I just wanted to take the time to share that I am loving my Strat and HRD III 40 watt tube amp. I just love the sound and I really believe them to be a perfect match for the type of music I enjoy. I can't think of a better combo,...for me,anyway,...to learn on as I progress and advance in the type of music I want to play
be it "praise & worship" music,or country gospel! My amp may be better suited for the "praise & worship" music than country, but I could be wrong. When I think country,I think Twin Reverb, and Deluxe Reverb amps,...darn near went with Deluxe Reverb, but found it to be out of my budget along with the Blues Deluxe Re-issue that was going to be a 2nd choice amp until I heard and played the HRD III amp. Twin Reverb was way out of my league on price alone! I'll be 50 next February and if the family asks what I would like for my
50th B-day,I tell them a standard Telecaster guitar and Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. Then maybe,I 'll have both a Tele and a Strat along with an HRD III and Deluxe Reverb amp. I like Telecasters, too!

Happy to hear that you are enjoying your setup, KC9SYJ. That's what it's all about, after all. I too am beginning to itch for a Deluxe Reverb. I have a really nice 59 bassman that I've been enjoying but my ear is always changing, and having tried many amps in recent years I think I am ready to admit the DR has 'the' sound. Find a nice one and it'll be your friend for life.

Glad to hear that you're having fun with your new gear. I have 2 Squier modded Standard Strats that I installed 57/62 pickups in and I just love them. I also have a Squier Butterscotch Affinity Telecaster that I just finished modding as well to resemble a Vintage 52 model. Telecasters are great guitars and I hope you do get one for your B-day.

I was just looking at the new satin finish Teles and Strats,...I want the Ocean Candy Blue one if I choose a Tele for my 50th birthday next February! When do those come out or have they already come out? Reason I ask is that I want to put one on my "wish list" on
the Sweetwater Music & Sound website. Sweetwater is where I bought my Strat and HRD III amp and I am happy with Sweetwater.
