I am fortunate enough to have gone to school with Greg Jennings, lead guitar with Restless Heart. To keep things short......Greg has sent me 2 guitars from his personal collection, an 80's model American made Aria and a Danelectro that the whole band has signed, to raffle off in order to raise money for Oklahoma's tornado victims.
I am so proud to be able to call Greg my friend, not because of his fame, but because he is such a generous person.
I'm adding a Restless Heart t-shirt and their latest CD to go along with each guitar. I'll probably be selling chances at $25 each through Labor Day. Hopefully we'll raise a good sum for the tornado victims.
Wish us luck!

Greg is second from the right wearing sunglasses.

"Wheels" and "The Bluest Eyes In Texas" are two of my favorite country songs and my wife chose "I'll Still Be Loving You" as musical accompaniment when we renewed our wedding vows at the 20-year mark. Restless Heart is one solid band!

I've heard of them, but seeing that you're helping out the tornado victims is really awesome in my book.

That's awesome.

I thought you meant Greg Jennings, who put the team on his back, from the Green Bay Packers.

Thanks.
The guys in my band also agreed to donate all tips through labor day to the tornado victims, so hopefully this will help out as well.

Maybe they're cousin brothers????? But I doubt it.....living in Nashville Greg has become a Titans fan.......so he does have flaws!

Here are the 2 guitars Greg sent me. Each winner will receive their guitar in it's own case along with a Restless Heart t-shirt and their latest Greatest Hits CD, which contains 2 new songs......Memphis Rain and Home.

Just wondering......can anyone guess the value of these guitars? Just a ballpark figure.....might help out when selling chances.

It's great when musicians who have made a successful career for themselves give back for a good cause. These days a lot of rock acts are too self absorbed to do anything charitable like that.

Great and generous cause. I like the Danelectro, but only 20 frets. :D
For Country's playful side I like Lorretta Lynn and Conway Twitty singing, "You're the Reason Our Children Are Ugly" to each other. Real roots music.

Just the link. This thread has a serious but good feel to it.

Thanks guys......hopefully we'll help a few folks out that really need it. Recovery from something like this takes a few years.

I plugged the guitars in to make sure everything is in working order.....that's my story and I'm sticking to it  .....and that Aria has all kinds of sounds. Didn't play it too much, but it's a nice guitar. First time I ever played one, so don't know too much about them. Love the pg color. Hadn't seen one like that before.

If you ever get the chance to meet Greg you'll quickly find out that he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. If he had the time, he would sit down and pick with me and you as long as we wanted. He sat in and played with my band at one of our high school reunions. All the guys in Restless Heart are great as well.

The Danelectro is my favorite. Very light....made in Korea....but love the feel and sound. Nice little guitar.
Country musicians have a history of poking fun at theirselves. There are quite a few songs like Conway and Loretta's.

Congrats! I recall Jennings played with Vince Gill's band for awhile.

Tight vocal harmonies in all of their lineups.
