I also wanted to add tone control to the bridge pup. Did I do this right?

I just noticed that the one with red wire has reverse polarity. I guess it's safe to say that's the middle pickup and doesn't matter where I install the other two?

Solder is hot and I can't wait to finish this project! 8)

Figured out the wiring, but I ran into a problem I suspected. Because of the 250k pots I installed, now the mid tone pot hits the end of the guitar's cavity, so the only way to make it fit was to reposition the pickguard... and I drilled new holes. Big mistake, I'm not even gonna install the strings because it's too badly misaligned. :(

I think my only option now is to enlarge that part of the cavity until I can align the pickguard to the old holes.

Use a Dremel tool and work carefully and deliberately. I think you'll find that the barrel sander works more efficiently and more precisely than a router bit.

Didn't those come with directions or did you get them used ? If I'm right, I'm pretty sure that the yellow one is the bridge pup.

That's odd. Are these some sort of non-standard pots? Or is it not a Fender body?

CTS pots (as well as Alpha and others) should fit into a Fender control cavity without issues.

Alternatively, you can also buy "mini" sized pots made by most of the mainstream brands. Very handy for tight spaces.

Lol sorry guys I didn't give too many details. This a project Squier from 1989, a friend of mine gave it to me and a set of AmStd pickups. So I decided to upgrade the tiny pots with full size 250k and I ran into that problem.

Ah well, that's probably one of the thinner bodies they used to do. Around 40-41 mm thick, I'm guessing?

No matter, you can buy good quality mini pots as well as the cheapies the guitar probably came with. Easiest solution, I'd have thought.

Cheers - C

Good thing pots are rather inexpensive. Yeah I'll stop doing irreversible stuff to this guitar and just get a mini 250k pot.
