Mine was my Strat Ultra that I scored years ago- Im gassing for a few guitars at the moment, but not entirely sure I can put a finger on just one.

Something like this in Vintage White but with Maple Fingerboard:

Or:

One of these Music Man Axis in Purple Transparent, Aqua Blue Transparent or Natural Finish:

I'm 99% sure I'll get made fun of for these, but hey, it's just proof my Mom let me listen to too much 80's metal.

1. 1991 Ibanez Jem 77 FP. The floral pattern is so cool. I remember seeing this for the first time when I was 10 and just being totally blown away. Such a cool guitar. It's so fast.

2. 1998 ESP Kirk Hammett Signature pre-lawsuit Ouija. The sound out of these is huge. They're also the coolest looking guitars I've seen in terms of metal.

3. My 2006 Les Paul Custom. I was stupid and sold this a few years ago. I bought it from the former guitar player of my favorite band, Modern Life is War. Sold it to another guy in the hardcore scene, so it has a good home, but none the less. Huge bummer.

4. An Ibanez I almost got as a kid. I've never seen this guitar again. It was a pink ibanez that had a single cutaway look but didn't look like a Les Paul. I've scoured all of the catalogues from the early to mid 90's and can't find it. The guy at the guitar shop said it was a prototype of some sort.

Early 60's block inlay ES-335 with a Bigsby in a nice dark cherry red. Closest I've ever got is my '76 walnut finish 335, but it's not quite right.

It's about the only guitar I truly lust after. I'll get one one day.

Gibson ES-335.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-ES-3 ... er-reviews

Wow. Just wow. When I think of how much money I spent on my ex-wife's stupid, useless ring, and how much I spent on related marriage costs at that time, and how much I've spent since the divorce supporting her. It just nearly kills me. I could have bought 50 of these. Or at least one, easily. Easily. But no.

But I never learn. I eventually found a new woman I thought I was going to marry, and I bought another ring, which cost substantially more than this guitar. And she broke it off and I have the ring sitting in my safe!!! Here's the thing: the price of diamonds is completely artificial BS, of course. The ring is sitting there exactly as I bought it, but I cannot sell it back for even 30% of what I paid. It's total BS. And I knew that going in. I'm not stupid, but we men are between a rock and a hard place if we want a woman in our lives in today's misandrist "society."

Ugh.

I love Fender, all my guitars are Fender, and John Mayer, of course, is known as a Strat player (and he's been playing Teles lately with his "cowboy" thing), but when Mayer wants to *shock* everyone with an *outrageously* beautiful tone, this is what he does. For me, this is perfect tone. Perfection.

Today, at any rate. Tomorrow it may be different.

You're decidedly very lucky to pick this baby blue beauty before being out of production. :D

I played a guitar that looked like that one night, about 20 years ago...although I had been drinking a lot of tequila, so it may not have been the guitar itself. :(

I would have to have Femder's Cusyom Shop to build my "Holy Grail" guitar. It would be a Fender USA made Stratocaster with an original Floyd Rose in chrome. A rosewood fret board with alone trapezoidal markers. the headstock painted black on the face with lettering in gold, Fat 50s in neck and middle positions, a Dimarzio Duper Distortion in the bridge. S1 wiring with Greasebucket technology. Flamed neck with binding. April Wine paint on the body. Pick guard would be white pearloid with black plastic parts.

That seems to have all bases covered. Order an extra one for me, I'll pay you when I see you.

I'd have a hard time giving even one of them up.

The late 80's-earlier 90's MIJ Ibanez guitars and basses are classics(as are the current ones). I've always loved the look and sound of a Jem. I see blues guys sometimes and wonder what magic they could do on one of those hotrods.

True story. Ibanez is one of those brands that really thrived in the 80s/90s and filled some interesting niche' markets (7 string, fusion metal stuff).

Found my hold grail ibanez:

The 580Ts were really cool. Almost like a tele.
