Aged white...yes that does sound appealing. I saw a video where a guy was soaking the plastics in coffee to give a tinted aged look...wonder if there is any merit to that. On a side note, I wonder ehy the back trem cover isn't also tortoise shell? From pics of other Roadhouse and Lonestars out there that just seems to be the way it is. Not that it's seen much, but I will have to remedy that also.

Congrats-you really came out the victor in that swap, although the G-400 is nothing to sneeze at,the Strat is the more valuable one and more importantly,it's the one that's more suitable for you.Enjoy!!!

Guitslinger, you are right. That SG was not only pretty, but was built well, and a very pretty quilted top. If not for the feel of the neck, I'd of kept it. The New Strat feels like an old friend already, so all is good. The guy I swapped with just emailed me to let me know how much he was loving the SG, and thanked me for the trade...I returned the email with the same sentiment!

I use a variety of common household materials to age plastic guitar parts. An extra-strong solution of instant coffee (regular or decaf) mixed with hot water is an excellent medium for imparting a vintage amber tint to knobs, pickup covers, switch tips, and the like. The stain is permanent and inexpensive.
