Made a nice trade today. Traded my Epiphone SG G400 quilt top for a Deluxe Roadhouse Strat. SG never felt right for me, and the guy I traded with felt the same about the strat, as he is more of a Gibson/Epiphone lover. I even got the tweed case with it, even though all I had was a soft bag with the SG. He didn't care, as he just keeps his guitars in his little guitar room. We both felt good about the deal! I'm thinking about black knobs, an PU covers, but I really like the look of sunburst with tortoise shell.

A fortuitous swap indeed......I'd say you got the upper hand on that deal.

I'd say it's a keeper.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks guys! I'm sure happy as hell about it! A few saddle adjustments, and a trem adjustment, and ready to rock! Of course after shaking hands I told him "no backsies!"

Congratulations and Merry New Guitar Day! You got a great deal!

That's a dang nice axe...I love the tortoise pick guard and white pup covers/knobs...I'd personally leave it that way, but she's your baby...

yeah I decided to leave it as is, I swapped out the knobs to black to compare, but it didn't do it for me like I thought it might.

Aged white knobs, pickup covers, and tips might be just the ticket to providing the right vibe to match the amber of the fretboard......

Nice, very nice :D I also traded an Epiphone for my MIM Strat. Even though at first glance my excellent condition Epiphone for a dirty old Strat looked like a RAW deal for me, I knew a little cleaning work on the Strat would make it a winner, and it did. My Strat is threatening to take No.1 position away from my Jazzmaster.
