I met Taylor when she was just an opening act
and a friend was part of the sound crew (FOH) and
she seemed pleasant and personable back then.

know someone who knows her--and I have a Lindsey Ell pick , but that's about as familiar as I am with her music--until now.
Now I've seen two videos.

I think Lindsay plays better than Taylor sings.

Am I the only one who finds Taylor's live vocals painfully off pitch most of the time? Sorry if I'm alone on that.

I do think Taylor is a great songwriter, but like fellow songsmiths Kris K and Willie N she's a more gifted writer than singer. I actually cringe when she sings live on TV and will change the channel. If anyone should lipsynch every TV appearance, it's Taylor. Actually I think I owe Willie and Kris an apology now as that comparison is not be entirely fair to them since I never wanted to flip channels when they came on to sing. With her I keep the remote at the ready. But her writing is stellar.

No, you are not alone. People have been saying this for years. But she remains beautiful and long legged. Wanna take a bet on whether anyone would have heard of John Mayer if his musicianship was as poor as Taylor's or Katie Perry's?
