My first guitar was a Yamaha answer to a headbanger's fat-strat. I dropped a marine-issue K-Bar knife butt-first on it and left an amazing dent. Didn't take the paint off the wood, just dented it about half an inch.

ouch definitely remember to keep my ka-bar out of my guitar room

Luckily I've got a Gerber.

 .... I will never froget my brand new shiny black strat. i was so in love with it i used to wax it every night. As i replaced the not even broke in strings, like a bar of soap it shot of the couch with a TWangg!!#@#%$ I had a huge spider web dent in the clear coat. i was like 12 and i cried my eyes out. 15 years later I love my (custom dent) strat. just bought a J strummer....new and beat up by someone i will never meet.

I could cry my eyes out if I hurt my guitar.

I would feel like I hurt my child.

whenever i send it in for repair i say

"my 15 year old daughter is being fondeled up by dirty 30 year old musicians"

the daughter being my guitar lol.

Well I have never hurt my guitar but I do have a good story.

somewhere around 15 years ago My Dad Grandpa, and Uncle were getting ready to go play a gig. My grandpa has an amazing original 60"s Gibson 335. This is an amazing sounding and playing guitar. Nothing like a 60"s quality guitar. Well anyway as they are getting the cars loaded and everything My grandma has to leave in her car to go do what she is going to do for the night. She kisses everyone good bye jumps in the car and backs over the neck of the case holding the 335. It cracked the headstock in half. My grandpas Jaw hit the floor in pure shock. I dont know if he will ever admit it but Im sure he cried his eyes out. He got the guitar fixed by an amazing guitar guy and he is till rocking that guitar today.

Image

All the Trim is real Ivory so it has aged very nicely. The Guitar is also signed by B.B. King, and that is an original 59 Bassman that he is playing out of behind him. He said he bought the guitar brand new for $335.00 and the amp Brand new for $300.00 Dont you wish we had those prices today?

One of the people I go to Youth Group with has a guitar like that except its some off-brand, I don't remember what. It WAS a BB. King signature guitar and he put STICKERS ALL OVER IT OMG!! I thought it was bad enough when I bought my Strat new and it had the stickers Fender put on it saying what was on it...

I hate it when people put stickers on good guitars

if they look ok then its fine

but if they are all uneven it makes me sad

I left Jersey in 82. Miss the people and lifestyle, don't miss the swealtering hot summers. I'd still be there if it wasn't for those summers. I go back every 5 years or so for a week or two to party with the old crew. Usually go back when the trees are in their full fall splendor.

It was a while ago when I dropped my acoustic down the stairs. I was carring it down to play along with the songs I have on my computer and I lost grip.

In 1975 I made the mistake of letting a friend talk me into"refinishing" my 65 Strat, since it was only 10 yrs old at the time I had no idea that it was destined to become a $30,000 collectors item.He had a hard time stripping the sunburst finish and took an industrial sander to it and stripped about 1/16 of an inch of wood to get to bare wood.I was so upset when it hit me that I had permitted such a sacrilege that I took the hardware off the body and put all the workings in a walnut Strat body and neck from Double Eagle Guitars and laid the original aside. Some day I'm going to get it put back together and get the body painted an authentic 65 body colour. I bought a used 65 Mustang in 76 that some guy had stripped to the bare finish and refinished it in Candy Apple Blue-the only thing I could find at the time that came close to Daphne Blue.Restoring the Mustang somehow helped make up for the indignity I had performed on the Strat.
