I told this story in a similar thread a while back but here goes....

After a night of power drinking I came back to my apt. in Runnemeade,NJ with some friends and decided to entertain with my Takamine 12 string. The guitar was completely unreliable, refusing to play anything correctly. It was surely trying to make me look bad. Having decided that the awful sounds coming from it were entirely the guitars fault I punished it by tossing it across the room. The neck cracked at the body. Luckily, the next day, thru the haze of a mighty hangover, I got the guitar to apologise and I sent it to the Guitar Doctor. They did a fantastic job of fixing it better then new. That'll teach that uppity Takamine to mess with me!

Neighborhood park, public use grill. Extra well done. Chalk it up to being young and stupid.

I had my acoustic hanging from the foot of my bed (top bunk) by the strap and it fell off during the night on a 40lb dumbell i've got and it put a nice crack in the bottom of the body. Luckily it was a cheapo first act and not my sigma 12 string

I slipped on some ice walking with my Classical. The case came down hard and the headstock snapped off. When I later opened the case I felt sick, but fortunately it was repairable and it lives today--and still sounds great.

The worst thing I did to a guitar was when moving I left some at
my parants house, picked most up after moving but did not have room for everything. Well one item was a Stratocaster that was bought used
in 1969 and given to me as a gift. Needless to say mom gave it to
someone for a church auction thinking it was just a old guitar that was not
worth much and did not think I would mind. We were put in contact with the people who bought it but they would not return it because they said
they gave it to their son. The year was 1994!

I guess I have done the same as most here; a cord gets stepped on and the guitar goes to the floor or the cord gets jerked out of the guitar. more than one time I stood a guitar up aginst some furniture and it slid to the floor. My Epiphone Dot went face first to the floor the other day when I bumbed it while trying to catch a screrwdriver that had slipped from my hand while installing a straplock.
The biggest reason I bought the wireless was because of the cord
I guess the moral of all the stories here is: Do not have your guitar where it should not be; get a wireless.
I have never chipped finish but I have some very small dings in headstocks but you have to look really close to find them so I have been pretty lucky!

My first guitar was a Yamaha answer to a headbanger's fat-strat. I dropped a marine-issue K-Bar knife butt-first on it and left an amazing dent. Didn't take the paint off the wood, just dented it about half an inch.

My second guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul Deluxe. I was jamming outside one day. When I was finished, I put it in the case, but didn't close the latches. I picked it up to move it and watched in horror as my precious LP tumbled onto the concrete. The paint was chipped and some wood was cracked horribly where it first hit.

So far, my Strat has suffered no such shenannigans!
