Unfortunately not me,but this afternoon Blinkers dropped by with his latest acquisition-an Egnator 30W Rebel. He bought the head from a guy on some music forum site etc.-whatever possessed this guy to part with such a gem is beyond me-unless he wanted a combo version of the same amp, otherwise a guy would have to be certifiable to part with such a fabulous little amp.We ran it through my JCM 800 Lead Series 1960B cabinet that's loaded with the lovely Celestion G-12-L-25s that break up so nicely when driven hard.I tried it with the handy tube panning switch set on EL-84 and it had the classic Brit tone that just begs to be dirtied up and the amp handled that perfectly. On the 6L6 setting it got a real milky smooth Fender tone when played clean but that setting too dirtied up real nice and showed remarkable definition to every note when a chord was played. The real beauty of this amp is the versatility of it that's made possible by the tube type panning pot that goes from EL-84 Brit type tubes to 6L6 American Fender type tubes and any combination in between and that's infinitely adjustable. It's the type of amp that I could sit and play with for hours because it can even give a Strat an unmistakeable AC-DC type tone and actually really nails it.

I thought that now that I finally have an AC-15,my amp buying days are finished and all that I had left to get in the way of amps would be the AC-30 C-2 but now it's obvious that an Egnater will be in a prominent place on my "Most Wanted" list. Thanks Blinkers for another costly GAS attack....lol .

I'm late to the show as usual :D I should probably check in more often...

Anyway, it is a fantastic amp. It's just what the Dr ordered. Great tones from both sets of tubes and the combination is in another world.

I have been battling with finding my OD strat tone for a while now. I've gone through several amps in my search but the very second I plugged in and tromped on the OD switch I was hooked. FAT, FAT, FAT cat of a strat :D

FWIW: I'm using a Mesa Rectifier 2x12 cab and I ordered a nice bridge pickup from Vineham Custom Handwound Pickups, output is 7.6 or 7.8, not sure anymore.

The LP sounds pretty spectacular through it too, I might add :)

I remember when an LP was something you put on a turntable. Gosh I'm old.
