I found this on Ishibashi ubox. Tele shape with an 'Espirit' or Robben Ford shaped headstock, a zero fret, and a body that resembles a mid-90's Ibanez Talman... This is the real deal, it's also going for a very pretty penny too, ¥268,000!!

Note the Trem and the pickguard shape...

Also the neck heel, the plate has only 2 screws..

Most certainly a rarity!! :D

I like it a little, but prefer this one...

Looking again, is it a set neck? I doubt those two little screws could hold a neck on for very long. The body is kinda Telecaster but with a hunchback and the shallow body contour reminds me of a Rickenbacker bass. Not totally dreadful but definitely not a classic Fender shape. Plus I hate Bigsby style trems even more than normal trems. And I can't stand tunomatic-style bridges.

So no, I won't be selling any guitars to bid for that one, sorry.

It does appear to be a set neck. I like it, except for the gold hardware.

Definitely not everyone's cup of tea- I don't really like it myself. It is very quirky though. I reckon it's a MIJ prototype or a custom order. One thing that's for sure is that despite its quirkiness (or uglieness) it's definitely a collectors piece. I'm trying to understand the genre this guitar would fit into.. You have to hand it to the Japanese for their creativeness and originality.

The trem seems to be stock as there is a 'Fender' logo on it.. One thing that's puzzling me also is why did the put the strap pin near the input socket?

I've always been a sucker for weird guitars, especially weird Fenders, so I find that guitar interesting. I, too, think the gold bling is a bit much, but that's Japan for you. I like set neck guitars and I currently own two Fender set necks, but neither of them has a neck plate on them, thank goodness.

You'd play anything you could get your hands on - we all know that!

I'm thinking of picking up a half scale Cort Explorer shaped guitar that needs a little work. Pretty cool, though.

But, no, I won't play anything. I have my 79' Guild and my 11' Fender and that's it.

Very picky now.

It looks kinda "Vegas" to me..but I dig it. I hear Fender Japan gets to make all kinds of goodies we don't get to see.

Only in Japan could you find monstrosities like these. LOL.

This sort of thing usually has me reaching for the sick bag. And yet somehow this one isn't totally turning me off. I like the cream binding against the red, and the skinny body edges are interesting. It's all so wrong - and yet...

Be clear, I don't want it.

But I'd be curious to know more about it. I wonder what the model is called?

Cheers - C
