My dad ordered his lap steel from MF. It took two weeks plus a large amount of phone calls just to see if they recieved the money order yet. Finally it came.

I'm wondering......Musician's Friends has what's called a "blem". They offer those with scratches, etc, at a bigger discount. I didn't see that once.....and almost made the mistake of ordering a "blem".

I usually use Music123, of course owned by the same company as MF and GC, and never have had any problems with returns and refunds. I am trying out different effects every couple of weeks, and sometimes they are slow with the refund, say 3-4 weeks, but I always get it eventually.

I've had mostly good luck with MF. Though on one occasion I ordered a LP jr. with P90's. Couldn't wait for that axe. When it arrived the headstock was busted clean off the neck. Then came the same problem you had. Without asking they gave me an in house credit. Took me a while to get them to credit the money back to my card. It's not just MF for that kind of problem. Companies hold your money as long as they can to make a few pennies in interest. Do that to several thousand customers a year and you can make some decent scratch.

Ya I bought a guitar from GC last year for a price that I just could not
beat anywhere else I thought it had to be wrong it was that good
and, you know what they say to good to be true. Well I orderd it any
way. The next day the price went up on line by like 40% to the
nomal price. I had not got a confirmation on my order.
Well two days latter a box came from MF not GC and it was my
order at the low price. And what a deal. It was available for the
price on line for like 3 hours before it changed I always thought it
had to be a mistake but they stuck to it. Strange they shipped it from
MF tho since I order it from GC. I know they are owned by the same
but thought they were independent from each other. Guess not!

I think it was Musicians Friend; years and years ago; maybe 1978 or 79 a friend and I ordered a MXR dynacomp (me)and he wanted some bongos; he got the bongos straight away and I waited months and months for the dynacomop.
I made many many calls and finally as I said I got my stuff; this could have been Musicians Emporium? Back then it was strickly a catalog thing as we didn't have the internet yet.
Yeah I'm an old guy.
Skip forward I got my Sigma acoustic and all my Epiphones save the Dot
( :D I got that at the 2004 Crossroads Concert in Dallas :D ) from Musicians Friend with no problems as regards the guitars; however When I pay UPS for fast shipping and take a day off from work to be there I expect them to knock on my door; not just drive by the place cause they see a "Beware Of The Dog" sign.
UPS wouldn't refund the extra I paid for the fast delivery; I mean I SAW the truck drive by; I saw the guy and his blonde hair and had eye contact; my address was PLAINLY in view... yeah it REALLY ticked me off and that's why I'm still not a big fan of UPS.

i strongly suggest ordering guitars from www.sweetwater.com!!!

these guys are cool! on the website, they actually take pictures of the ACTUAL guitar you want, and then you select the guitar by serial number!!!

before they send the guitar to you, they also run in through a 55-point inspection too!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWESOME!!!

THESE GUYS WILL ACTUALLY CALL YOU!!! they call just to see if you got the order you wanted and to see how you are doing. They even called about 3 weeks after my order came in to see how it was doing!!!

i bought my Fender American Standard Stratocaster (2008) from them, and it's been a great experience so far

+1 on the Sweetwater. Once you're a customer you always deal with the same salesperson too. Well, unless he quits. Those guys do a great job. Another store that will always treat you right is Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, Co. Check em out online. Amazing selection and service.
