(with apologies to Buddy Guy)

Just noodling around with the camera recently and thought I’d mix two of my favorite subjects in a single frame – the Fender Strat and diecast vintage muscle car replicas from the ‘60s and ‘70s......

Image

From L to R:

‘66 Shelby Mustang in Brittany Blue
‘70 Challenger R/T in Brite Blue Poly
‘69 Z28 Camaro in Lemans Blue
‘68 Roadrunner in Electric Blue
‘70 Chevelle SS454 in Fathom Blue
‘72 Cutlass 442 in Viking Blue
‘70 Torino GT in Grabber Blue
‘69 Z28 Camaro in Dusk Blue
‘69 Mach 1 Mustang in Acapulco Blue

(the CIJ ‘65 re-issue Strat in Lake Placid Blue needs no further introduction)

The blue on the Plymouth Roadrunner is a near dead-nuts match to the color of the guitar which seems an anomaly since that shade was originally a GM paint.

Gentlemen......START YOUR ENGINES!

Way cool. 8)

Is the Strat a R. Cray or your own assembly?
...Hope this thread draws out some nice collectibles!
Cheers Arjay.

Cool guitar Arjay, the models are cool too.I collect diecast car models too but I don't collect any particular type.I do have some 60's muscle cars: '67 Chev Impala SS 396, '69 Torino Talladega,'61 Corvette Mako Shark Prototype, '65 Pontiac GTO Tri-Pak 403, '64 Ford Falcon 260 V-8,'64 Mustang 289, '68 Shelby Mustang GT 500,'67 Mustang GT350, Cobra 427,'69 Pontiac GTO Judge,'69 Camaro 396.I also have a beautifully detailed 1/18 diecast 1949 Jaguar XK 120 and a 1947 MG-TC.I recently ordered my favourite muscle car from the 60s-a 1966 Chevelle SS396 in my favourite GM colour-Plum Mist.

My models range from a 1904 Cadillac to a 2011 Mercedes SLS "Gullwing" GT3. I have models in 1/64,1/43,1/32,1/24,1/18 including Corgi and Dinky (Meccano) from as far back as 1957.

BTW: It must have taken quite a bit of shopping around to find all these models in blue, they all look brilliant though.

Pretty cool pic. Hot cars and guitars. Bring on the 60's. I had a blue 66 Chevelle SS back in the day.

Nice bunch of cars there, Arjay. I have a fair number of die cast models, though mostly various Corvettes. I can only imagine what my wife would do or say if she caught me setting them up and taking pictures like you have done...

My favorite Corvette, though not a die cast.

Image

And I'm sure you notice the color...

Nice picture , nice items ,Arjay ! And- CR - your pic of your fine Corvette , might be a good one in a campaign , ''Speed Kills'' , or something like that

Which again reminds me of Petter Solberg , norwegian world champion in rally , about 10 years ago. His (rather famous) comment on that , was : It is not the FART (fart is norw. for speed) that kills - it is the SMELL! (smell= BANG!, or hit/crash in norwegian)

Then again , he is not very famous for his fluid english.....

The whole thing would be perfect with the matching '66 Jazz Bass!

It's ironic that I've never owned a Mustang but now I have seven of them, including a '70 Boss 429 in Grabber Green (which looks suspiciously like Fender's Sea Foam Green).
