I've been thinking about checking out a Voyage-Air guitar with a folding neck. Has anyone tried either the electric or acoustic versions of these guitars?

I've seen versions of the "traveling guitars" and other novelty gear at GC and although it may be worth a smile, not much else. In the words of my favorite Martian this is IMHO YMMV. :D

Originally I saw these on the tv show Shark Tank. When the inventor of the folding lock mechanism finally made a deal with a shark, they took it to Fender who agreed to make 150 of them. Now there are several models of acoustics and a couple of electrics. I read good reviews. Don't know if Fender is still involved or not.

That's where I first saw it too. Cool they now have other models. The guitar is supposedly very well made.

I saw this post and finally joined the Forum (after lurking for a long time :D )

These really work. I own two of them: a VAD-2 (Dreadnought) and a VAOM-04BK (Blacktop, OM-size guitar). I've had the VAD-2 for about 4.5 years, and it plays perfectly, in fact it sounds better and better as it ages and I play it more.

Gimmick? No. These guitars have been used ON STAGE with bands like Bob Seger, and Jimmy Buffett. They really work. Now I can take a full-size Dreadnought to gigs or to just hang out with friends, without taking up the full trunk of my car.

Very interesting, I didn't know that they have been around that long.

They are definitely cool, and I almost bought one right after I saw them on Shark Tank. I'm dying to get one, but I just don't need one right now.
