Is there any copper shielding under the pickguard and if so, is it properly grounded?

ive never had the pick gaurd off. ive had the guitar for a couple of months and cant say that ive ever heard it before. i plugged another guitar into the same cord, same amp and the other guitar didnt do it.
i just re read my 1st post. when i say static i mean through the amp. basiclly right below the neck and middle pickups.its just strange that it either just started to do it or that its been doing it since i got it and never noticed it

It's worth opening the guitar up and checking with a multimeter to make sure that the backs of the pots and any metal screening is connected to the bridge ground.

You can also try the dryer anti-static rub trick which does work but only temporarily.

The wire has to be tight between the body and shielding of the pickguard to ensure a good ground.
