How about this for a crazy suggestion - appoint forum "janitors". Choose half a dozen trusted long-term posters and give them the power to hide posts that are clearly spam. Then a mod can permanently delete or allow the posts whenever he/she has time.

Yes, I know this isn't a priority for Fender but in many ways this forum is the public face of FMIC.

+1000!

The abhorrent nature of some of these spam posts is both disturbing and disgusting.

I've heard of that country. I think the capitol is Sporkville which I believe is not too far from Kliktown.

(SPORK, and KLIK were Cannuck versions of SPAM back in the day. Hormel wasn't doing bidness in Canada back then)

SPORK and KLIK!

Ahhh, the memories! If sliced and fried in a pan with eggs...it was almost as if it was real food!!

And the NAMES! Even back then the names sounded like fake food.

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam...

Just had to put that it to stay on subject. SPAMdemic indeed!

Gridlok

I want to make it quite clear that I didn't post this as a critique of Brad and the excellent job that he's doing and I'm sure that there days thast he must be pulling his hair out trying to find ways to outsmart all the spammers who always find ways to outsmart or circumvent firewalls,spam-blockers etc. As not being the slightest bit computer literate I just wanted to know where is all this garbage coming from and how they manage to get past all of these measures that are taken to stop them.

There have been multiple threads posted on this subject. Pretty soon threads on spam will become spam themselves.

Nicely put and I agree wholeheartedly with your earlier posts on the subject.
Report the spam and move on.
