When Nickelback got radio play, the music industry jumped the shark...

No way man!! This album was WAY underrated. Lots of great songs here, just no recognition because there wasn't a "bee girl" running around. I love the song "No Rain", but it labeled a great band as a one hit wonder.

Yeah, No Rain was a fluke, the bass player wrote it and it doesn't sound remotely like anything else on the album.

Admittedly, I never bought 'Soup' just because I didn't particularly like the single, 'Galaxie', and I guess they kind of slipped off the radar before there was another single from that album?

Hmmm maybe I should give it another chance, I really liked Blind Melon. I saw them live and acoustic in the Manhattan Sam Goody in the fairly early days. Shannon Hoon autographed my wallet.

I think this is one of the best (and perhaps most underrated) albums ever . I can listen to it from first to the last track time after time. A Masterpiece IMHO

U2 after Rattle and Hum
Journey after Steve Perry
Van Halen after 5150 (I give Hagar one good album!)
Bon Jovi after New Jersey
Def Leppard after Hysteria
Counting Crows and Pearl Jam after their first commercial albums (I guess it always sucks when your first is your best!)
Any resemblance or iteration of Queen without Freddie Mercury

The Stones with "Bridges To Babylon"
Styx with "Mr Roboto" (although I hate every form, era and album of Styx).
The Black Crowes after "Amorica"; The Allman Brothers and Phish called--they want their stageshow back!

The Beatles "jumped the shark" after the Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour era. If I could just go back in time and erase the White Album, Let it Be..and Abbey Road.

Faith No More blew it with Angel Dust. I can't believe it when people give that one such high artistic praise. Most of it makes me cringe.

Then...there's all the great 70's bands that cheesed up during the 80's.

I though "Some Girls" and all, or most of "Tattoo You" were recorded at the same time...

I'll go the "jumped the shark after" route:

Black Sabbath after Born Again
Aerosmith after Rocks
Smashing Pumpkins after Machina
Rush after Hemispheres
Yes after Relayer
Cheap Trick after Heaven Tonight
The Cars after Candy-O
Motley Crue after Shout at the Devil

Forgot to mention AC/DC after Back in Black.
