I was watching "Pawn Stars" for a change today when a guy walked in with a poster that promoted Jimi's next-to-last concert before his death. The poster only bills him and the other concert acts. They gave the guy $4,000 for it.That immediately got me thinking about how much my original 60s Hendrix posters would be worth-especially the black "velvet" black light ones and the larger than life 2 1/2 X 5 ones.I also have a vintage venue poster from Feb 10, circa 1968 Shrine Auditorium Pinnacle Concert with Soft Machine,Electric Flag and Blue Cheer. This poster is 8 1/2 X 14 and except for the expected yellowing of the poster board is in totally unharmed condition with no dog-eared corners or bent edges with an op-art portrait of Jimi and the psychedelic lettering of the day.I also have an unsold ticket from the August 17,1969 concert day at Woodstock-the day Jimi closed the show. This ticket along with hundreds of others was found in an old safe that had belonged to Wavy Gravy or one of the other people who were instrumental in pulling off the concert and had only been discovered a couple of years ago.As just about everyone knows shortly after the concert began the gates were stormed and the surrounding fences were trampled making the tickets useless hence they languished in the safe for decades until it was opened a couple of years ago.

I wonder what the combined value of all my little Hendrix memorabilia is worth these days-I would hazard a guess that it could bring in good money in an auction of British Invasion era collectables.

I know someone who had breakfast with Hendrix before the Isle of Wight gig. If only he's kept the box of cornflakes he'd be a millionaire now.

We saw that episode too. Got me thinking about my Jerry Garcia drawing with COA.

Collecting is such an interesting phenomenon. In many cases an object with no intrinsic value whatsoever is worth thousands or millions of dollars because someone really, really wants it, others also want it, it is extremely rare and can't be found just anywhere.

A copy of that Hendrix poster that looks exactly the same as the original would be worth nothing.

I'll see your ticket, and show you mine. No autographs though.

When I saw the Beatles, tix were only six bucks.

Did you also see more than hear them? The many screaming, crying
female fans in the audience were louder than they were when we saw them.

One of my main memories of the event is the noise. There were several opening acts, and every thing was great. Then a black limo drives right on the field, The Beatles get out and head towards the stage, and pandemonium started and never stopped. I figure the extra money I had to pay for my ticket was because John had recently bought a baby blue Ferrari and someone needed to pay for it. :)

Same exact scenario as when I saw them. I think opening acts were
The Cyrkle (Red Rubber Ball, written by Paul Simon), Barry & The Remains,
and one other act, that obviously was forgettable.

Somewhere back at my dad's house is my autographed SRV ticket stub and one of his picks. I should really rescue those in case the house burns down or something.

I've got a few 'choice' picks, but no SRV. I do have JV, JBeck, GM, SM, EP, Pete T, George H, CBGBs, Chet and more.
