For me i was about 10 years old and looking through my dads old records and found one that had an old man on the cover in a brown coat. and looked kinda creepy so I asked my dad what it was and that is when my ears were opened up to quite possibly the best album from start to finish ever. That album was Jethro Tull - Aqualung.

I was hooked from that day and have never looked back. Still my favorite album till this day.

Dave.

I guess it was Kiss Alive II in the early years
Later on it was Molly Hatchet Bounty Hunter as I refined my style.

Pink FLoyd - The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals...
Rush - 2112
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Def Leppard - High and Dry, Pyromania - Yeah some may laugh but there's some cool Guitar work on that stuff.

It's strange that no other record has come out since that has had that kind of impact on me then what those 3 have.

I don't think it is, it's why they're called formative years. It's when things make the biggest impression on you. That's why guys in their 60s think all good music died in the 1970s.

Ya your probably right.
