One of my personal favorite albums, and has been in my top 5 or so for a while, honestly was one of those life changing albums, in terms of the way I think, view music, and view life.

40oz To Freedom by Sublime.

It's a very easy album to listen to. I feel like i'm being told a story with the album, not one of those conventional stories, either. Just one of those "tales from the hood" to put it into simplest form. It's just so up and down. It's angry, hurt, and vengeful, but at the same time would buy you a beer. It's just a relatable album, for me at least. This album is like the inside of my head at times. I feel like I could hear it 1,000 times in a row and not get bored of it, and always hear something new. I've listened to it 6 times in the past 24 hrs.

Putting my thoughts simply, I give it an 8.5/10. There are a few parts feel out of place, but I still enjoy them.

That being said, it's still my second favorite album of all time, bested only by Too Tough To Die.

This is my favorite song on the album as well.

(whats the story) Morning Glory - Oasis.

i was 11, and this was my first move away from my dads record collection, the beginnings of my own. and also one of the albums that got me into playing, though not for a couple of years after.

6 or 7 years old went home for lunch from school on my own one day. Get there and my mom is dancing round the kitchen to my dads LP on full blast. It changed me. Had to be loud crashing guitar from then on

This is going to sound like a terrible cliché but when I was 11 my older brother came home with this album ...

... and as soon as I heard the opening notes of that track -yes, that one - I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

This is the music that shaped me as a kid. The albums I got as gifts and bought with my allowance when I was between the ages of 5 and 13. These are what made music such an important part of my life. It's the music that shaped me. Still shapes me, honestly. These are the albums I use to ground me. It all started when my cousin gave me a copy of London Calling for my 5th birthday. (1979) Still have it. Still put it on the turntable on Sunday mornings after a Saturday night gig sometimes when everyone else is sleeping in and I can't seem to rest.

London Calling by The Clash
Combat Rock by The Clash
Walk Among Us by The Misfits
Rocket to Russia by The Ramones
Nevermind the Bollocks by The Sex Pistols
The Sky's Gone Out by Bauhaus
Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me by The Cure
Hyaena by Siouxsie and The Banshees

This is last one is important to me because it's the album that gave me that last push and made me realize I wanted to play music, start a band, and finally pick up the bass at 13.

Appetite for Destruction by Guns n' Roses

Cool thread.
