Hello all, am new to the forum, I did a search but did not get a reply on this specific question. I am looking to buy a pieced together bass that has a supposed 2003 MIA Jazz Bass neck. But the pictures I got and after I looked at it it doesn't match what I see online. The neck has a truss rod adjustment at the headstock. From all the pictures I see of MIA 2003 Jazz necks none have the truss rod access at the headstock. The serial matches to a 2003 MIA and I think the decal looks like other 2003 MIA decals.
Should the adjustment be at the headstock or at the bottom of the neck?
Any help is appreciated.

I have a pic if I can post one.

Not necessarily.

A few MIA basses (AVRI, pre-2006 HWY1s) made that year do have their truss rod accessible from the headstock.

It appears you want purchasing a pre-2006 HWY1 Jazz Bass.

Well, here you go!

Hope these pictures help! :D

Excellent,, that is exactly what the headstock looks like.. One quick question. on the Highway one does the neck have a skunk stripe? Are the tuner covered gears or just visible one? Thanks much for your help on this.

YEP! :P

The skunk stripe disappeared in 2006 as Fender updated the HWY1s with Posiflex graphite reinforcement rods.
