RAP, like Flo ridas' "low", it absolutely DISGUSTS me, these losers have nothing else in life to think about but po--ah, "not dressed" women, then they write songs about it, and people LOVE it, it makes me sick

the worst songs on the radio today:

Low- Flo rida
Touch my body- Mirah Carey
I kissed a girl(?)- ?????
and countless others i can't recall right now...

I just got to say, Maria Carey's music video was pretty funny. (Though the lyrics are in no way wholesome...)
Also, Katy Perry sings I Kissed a Girl, which I am no fan of either

Any Corporate made Bad boy/girl attitude pop artist which people dare calling rockers. to name few Katy Perry, any boy band in the world, those generic "rock bands" you hear on shows like one tree hill.

Also I hate any copycat bands who don't write anything original. Accoustic gitar players are in now so we get lot of copycats there. There used to be the "the" bands who all sounded like The Strokes (always the same deep male voice) and all claimed to be inspired by The Zombies. To me Yeah Yeah Yeahs broke the pattern and saved the Indie rock scene just by having a female singer.

Plus I don't like emo and screamo... I am sorry that your mommy doesm't understand you and didn't give you the latest iPod for christmas, but I don't want to listen to you $@!&* and moan about it, there are people out there with real proplems.

Wow. I didn't realize that [insert alt. word for female dog here (starts with a B)] was such a bad word that it has to be censored, but then a again I am from a country where swearing is very built in our culture.

1) Over-manufactured pop music that has no real musicality to it.
It is funny that back in the day that we hated disco so much. By contrast, disco had a lot great musicality to it and some tremendous musicianship. But today ... it is just "the machine".

2) Justin Timberlake.
If I had a choice of listening to his music, or sticking a knitting needle in my ear and out the other ... I'd go with the knitting needle. Gladly.

If (and 'agree, it does) rap sucks SO big time, what is the attraction to so many people.

2 things. A beat that anyone can dance to, and lyrics that anyone can sing. You can sing along with a whole rap album in your car and never get stumped by a note thats to long or too high, or a word you're unfamiliar with.

Easy to Make and Easy to Market = Modern Record Company's Dream

Music that doesnt push the envelope in any way tends to bug me alot. No matter the musical style. If you cant be yourself/creative, what are you really doing for music? I know I will get lambasted for this but to me a HUGE example of this is AC/DC. That band has written basically the same album for about 30 years. Its really time for them to just get out of the way.

Another music that annoys me personally is blues (ok start beating me up in 3..2...1). To me its just so frickin slow and honestly where are the notes? It just sounds like a big excuse to not have to play very much. I dunno, call me crazy.

Also, I see alot of rap mentions. I think rap has its place but it is not very fun, especially for guitar players, because it is so rhythm/beat consumed. Personally I can enjoy some rap but very little. I am very choosy there.

Alot of the blame for crap music is on the consumers. They are much too willing to accept albums with 1 good song and 10 fillers. There needs to be a demand for full-album quality, like there used to be. I think the 60s and 80s mentality is back again.

I hate to bring up Brittany Spears, but she seems to have become the poster child for all that is wrong with popular music, or more accurately, what's wrong with the major labels. I don't think she could have sustained any kind of career with her whiney, thin voice without her good looks. Without video she has no career.

With that said, I must confess in my more prurient moments, I really enjoyed her "Toxic" video.
