I have always been a lover of oddball amps and guitars, especially if they say Fender on them. For example, a Fender London Reverb, Rivera-designed and built in the USA. Two channels and the first Fender amp to incorporate an EQ into the face.

Image

And here's a Fender Cyber-Deluze, a true oddball that was later reincarnated as a G-DEC. This amp is 100% original and functions perfectly - not bad for a $224 investment. I did spend a couple of hours of intense labor getting it cleaned up and pretty.

Image

Here's my Fender Stage 100 DSP head, one of my gigging workhorses from the 90s - 100W of hot singing clarity, with an overdrive channel that does a very nice job.

Image

Okay, the wife just came into the room, so I'll shut this down for now!

I cannot understand how the universe did not implode the moment that picture was taken.

Just wondering Arjay, the tweed-era of amps failed to capture any appeal?

No, they really don't. I owned a fairly used-and-abused 5F6-A "back in the day", bought because it was cheap (forty bucks) and I needed something loud for stage use. Sonically though, it didn't really fit my musical style and I was never happier as when I traded it off for a '64 blackface Concert Amp. Of course now -- in retrospect -- I wish I'd kept it. Should've kept the Concert Amp too but that's another story.

If this is an amp porn thread, then I guess these would be the strippers. Center is a 1969 vintage Mosrite Ventures Model BG-1000, 100W solid-state amp, two huge 15" Jensen speakers, with built-in tremolo, vibrato, reverb and Fuzz-Rite fuzz, all controlled by the same four-button footswitch.

Image

The units on each side are the same amp, but the slightly smaller BG-500 version. I bought these cabinets without the amp heads, each containing a 15" Jensen guitar speaker. I put Tolex covered inserts where the heads would have been and stored the three big covers in those spaces when I was playing.

The BG-1000 is one of the few surviving bastard children spawned by The Ventures and The Waters-Connelly Company of Rochester, Minnesota, built for a brief time in the late 60s before the whole "venture" went down in flames. Semie Moseley was paid a flat fee of $5000 for the use of the Mosrite name to, hopefully, enhance sales of the new amps. The Ventures performed with three BG-1000 amps during a tour stop in Japan, but all three of those amps were stolen there and never recovered.

Yes, that's a rare photo of me caught in the storm door glass in 2002 as I took this picture.
