When I'm looking on line, is there a way to tell which Fender models are made in America?

Not so as you'd notice.

Price point can be a rough indicator but its not completely reliable.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

If they don't say they're Made In America, they probably aren't. It's not the sort of thing that generally gets left out of an ad as it is usually a strong selling point, at least to the seller.

I was hoping for something simple like the name description like American Deluxe, American Standard, Classic Series, Modern Player, etc, thinking the name would identify its country of origin. Even when looking here, at the Fenders in the Fender website, I dont see where the country is listed.

Thank you for that. I looked at a lot of them but obviously not all of them.
It would be nice if they all had the country were they were manufactured.

I guess my buy America is kicking in. I find myself looking at labels for everything I buy.

You could always ask the seller since they are all marked as to country of origin, but you probaly already thought of that.

Usually it will state its American in the title listed on their guitar page. I. E. American Standard Stratocaster, etc. Also if it does not, check to see if its got the Fender Custom Shop logo bottom right on the guitar display page next to the guitar in question.

I've been drooling to buy a new Fender for a while now. I keep getting discouraged trying to get back into playing using the Squire I bought. It has no comparison (naturally) to the Jag I had back in the 60's. In looking around, I seldom see the country where it's made in the description and I'm scared to death to spend spend good money on anything that is not made in America.

I've been looking at sites that offer an interest free payment plan. It's the only way I'll ever be able to fit it into our tight budget.

I'd feel bad about going to the local music store and tease them thinking that I can just fork out 2k for a new guitar. This is why I was researching country of origin, thinking that there was some meaning in the name of the model.

Does this make any sense?

Thanks for that link. It will make a good point for reference.

NO, I'm not saying that the non-American made are rubbish.

I'm 62 and played a Jaguar in the mid-late sixties. I had been out of playing since early 70's, only picking up someones guitar now & then. My grandkids are getting interested in music. I did zero research and had a kneejerk reaction to buy a Fender Squire & amp combo for $200 a few years ago. I cant get used to it. I dont like it, but that's me. Now that I want to play again, I'm no different than anyone else in wanting the best for what I can afford. I'm on a fixed income. My wife's wages are frozen. I had a great and memorable experience with my Jag and I'm afraid to spend money on something that I wont be happy with.

I do not mean to offend anyone and apologize if I have.

Ditto on the above. In fact, we generally do a great job insulting each other at times:lol:  Anyway....if you hang around here more often and long enough you'll become well informed as to the countries of manufacture of the various models and, by all means, feel comfortable in asking any questions about anything of interest or concern. We certainly will take the time to help you.
