Good day Fender Colleagues, been lurking in the back ground for a few years contributing a little. But mostly reading and learning from so many of you. I thank you all for that, this forum has been an incredible source of information and inspiration for me on my quest to take up guitar at the age of 56 now 60!

I do hope my attempt at posting a few pics of my gear works! My first attempt.
And! to people like Retroverbial, Supro, Bluesky, Stratele and the rest, you have no idea how much you influenced my gear selection and the pursuit of my tone or that silly blues sound in my head!
Best regards

It looks like you've got all you need to make most any kind of music!

Nice, sensible gear. I like that.

cool collection!

very nice looking LP.. (btw - do you know about the rubber that is used on most guitar stands, and how that interacts (rather disastrously) with Gibson nitro finishes?)

Cheers!

Yes KidBlast/Ray I am aware! and as a rookie I found out the hard way on a Les Paul Studio SwampAsh I once had. It (the stand) did react with the neck and a groove moulded itself in the neck finish!! Now my guitars are always stored in their cases. The stand was used only for the photo op...and thanks!

Very nice collection of gear. FYI, that silly blues sound in our heads is what keeps us going. It's just starting to emerge out of my amplifier every now and then, lately. It's very satisfying when it does. I'd say welcome to the forum, but you've been here longer than me. :)

The strat is a wannabe for sure!.... 2007 NAMM CS 57 Relic Stratocaster Ltd Edition. CS 69 Neck, CS Fat 50's Middle and Texas Special Bridge.

The other is an 89 (by serial number) Eric Clapton Signature with the Gold Lace Sensors.

Though Black was not officially offered until 1991 Fender did a few "Blackies" since the introduction of the Eric Clapton signature series in 1988.

The "official" colours for the Clapton Strat at the time were Pewter, Torino Red and Candy Green.

Olympic White was added in 1994.

Surely ZZDoc has a lot of trivia about those "unofficial" black EC Strats.

Cool man! I was hoping that was the situation.

I would just hate to be of the idea that you maybe don't know and, well as you've already experienced... the discovery of finish damage to that beauty would break many hearts.

Rock on!

I have done a little reading in that regard. I sent the serial number into Fender and they responded with a build date of 93. I understood that there were a lot of extra neck/serial number combos that went on to post 89 strats. I have not had the neck off of it.

The guitar came from Matt Umanov Guitars in NYC. It still had the plastic on the pick guard and back plate when I got it, in its original case and all the associated case candy.

Is that a gloss neck? I have a gloss '57 neck, and was wondering if they actually wear such as they way yours has. I always thought of the neck on my guitar to be pretty well indestructible. :x

And fantastic, tasteful collection sir!

Toronado

It is in fact a semi gloss finish that appears to have been applied right over the "make believe" fret wear marks on the fret board. The back is completely worn away and yet still has that semi gloss sheen and a beautiful soft V neck feel to it...and thank you!

I like how you can cover so much territory with your gear. I'm really most fond of the blonde tele.

Thanks brotherdave

That is a 2011 Telebration Tele; specifically "the Indiana Barn Tele" supposedly made of salvaged 100 year old pine barn board? The finish is a whitewash oil I believe. They apparently made 300 of these....52 body and a Hotrod neck with 62 pickups.... it is a lightweight guitar that sounds great(IMO).

best regards
