Good afternoon,

Just thought I would introduce myself. I'm Greg, and I live in the UK. I play in a rock band and I tamper with electronic music production. I'm a huge Hendrix and Biffy Clyro fan, and I've finally taken the leap to get myself a Fender.

I have ordered a Fender Classic 60's Series Strat in Lake Placid Blue through my local guitar shop as of Monday and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I've played a fair few Strats and decided that this guitar would be the best for me. It was a huge decision between the Classic 60's in LPB with Rosewood and that gorgeous Classic 50's in Seafoam/Surf Green.

Here's my query. The local guitar shop have ordered the guitar in for me, but they have told me that the estimated time for the guitar to get to the shop is 2-3 weeks as the European warehouse is out of stock. Is this a usual ETA or do you think it will be quicker? I was originally told 4-5 working days, but I guess they didn't know that the guitar was out of stock.

Any help/experience would be very greatly appreciated.

I will keep you informed and I am very much looking forward to posting and learning here in the future :)

Greg.

Welcome aboard. If the shop is an authorized Fender dealer, than I'd go with their delivery estimate. Congrats on your new purchase.

Hello and congratulations on a brand new Fender Stratocaster. I'm a huge fan of the Strat sound.

That doesn't sound like an unreasonable waiting period and I'm sure the guitar will be worth the wait once you get it in your hands!

Welcome aboard! Waiting for pics!

Welcome to the forum!
I once waited 5 months for a guitar, so I'd be pretty happy with an ETA like yours.

Wow that's a long time!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I can't wait to go and pick this beauty up. I hope these next few weeks go very quickly, haha.

I'm just worried I'll be waiting and then all of a sudden it will be made discontinued. Maybe it's because of my line of work where things are discontinued very frequently. Or I am just going crazy

The Classic 60's has the 57/62 pickups right? The gas/anticipation is killing me!

Welcome aboard!

I saw Biffy Clyro for the second time at the end of last month. Its always nice to have someone else around who's a fan.

Fantastic. I saw them, too. They absolutely kill live! Incredible new album, too. I saw them at the O2 in London on the 3rd April. Simon's guitar sound is amazing. I've never heard a clean guitar tone so powerful. Extremely talented chap, one of my heroes.

Thank you sir :)

This past week has gone so slowly. Just waiting for the phone call to say my Strat has arrived. I think I'll call at the end of the week to see if there's any update.

Ditto on the welcome. I expect you'll be hearing some from your mates on your side of the pond before too long.
