Well bros I guess all that mojo you gave me paid off. I was a bit nervous, but as soon as I got on that stage I got in the zone and played my $@! off. Got a lot of complements when I was done. Some drunk guy kept shaking my hand and hugging me

Being the shy kid in high school who could barely talk in public, I'd say I've come pretty far. Luckily I had a lot of support and my gf and two of my best friends were there with me.

I can't thank you guys enough for your help/support. It honestly helped a lot. Looks like this will be a routine monday for me 8)

Also I think I've officially earned the cool guy smiley to put after my name, so:

-Jake 8)

Congratulations!

:D

Glad the gig went well.

There's nothing like the thrill of anticipation when a guitarist takes the stage.

Rawk on!

8)

Too cool! Well done, man. Have another smiley: 8)

Now, just hold that feeling in your head and next Monday turn it on again!

Congrats - C

Congratulations, Jake 8) ! Get used to it. I have to say, though, it's a lot more fun when it's a girl doing the hugging, drunk or otherwise!

Drunk is OK, but I think it's especially flattering when a woman wants to hug you when she's sober. That's an important milepost in life.

Cheers - C

I practiced the songs I was going to play over and over and over again. When I got up there, I was confident in my ability to play the songs. Having my friends there helped a LOT. I was nervous, but I rehearsed a lot yesterday. Just get some mic time at home, and act like you're playing in front of people. I got up there and immediately got in the zone when I started playing. After the first song and people started clapping (and the guy that eventually hugged me yelled "WOO!) All my jitters went away and i had fun with it.

Just have fun with it and remember there's always at least one person there who is worse than you. Just practice a lot and you'll be fine. That's the main thing I learned last night.

And thank you all for everything you taught me. Last night was a big night for me, and it turned out better than I could've imagined.

The bug has well and truly bitten then?
Congratulations and well done.
It's just like sex. Sometimes it's better than others but nothing ever tops the first time.
I'm really happy for you. I'm just the same way, that 45 minutes once a week is life to me.
