Strangely enough, the photo that sparked poorboy's inane comment is ... absolutely fantastic. I LOVE that shot, mthomps07!!!

Now ... to try and get this wonderful thread back on track. I've shared this pic in the past but here it is again -- me and my trusty Tele Jr.:

Thanks! My yearbook teacher took a bunch of them back in my senior year of highschool. Here's another one in a similar style, taken as I checked the scoreboard to know when to start. He did some messing around with color filters and such, which ended up with a pretty cool look.

Wow, that was more uncalled for then poorboys judgemental statement. Did you ever consider one of those girls might be the family, wife or girlfriend of someone here?

No lol, I guess I didn't. My apologies.

Me and mine:

This is a prototype J5 Electro Acoustic. Early stage design, before some of the body changes and before the signatory 5 on the fifth fret were added to later stages in the design process.

And here's John, from Fenders own website, showing John with the exact model (cept for without his message on it)

I'm very proud of this guitar and it takes pride of place in my house.

Emma: extremely cool, and nice seeing you in these parts! :-) I recall when that model was being designed I had one of the protos sitting in my cube for a while -- although the one I had was closer to the final-final version.

Hey Brad.

As you can imagine it's been kinda busy this week with REQUIEM out now. ;)

Thanks for the kind words on the guitar. My jaw hit the floor when John gave it to me and I am so proud of i. Plus it's even better when I see he used it in a Fender photoshoot.

It's amazing seeing hoe the guitar developed to the final design, which I agree is 2die4.

So how any times did you play the prototype you had in the office?

I had it sitting around for several months so it was my 'office guitar' for a while. Way cool guitar for sure. :-)

Most definatley. I've had to ban my boyfriend from touching it cos he keeps playing it and he could end up rubbing off John's words.

There are plenty of great acoustics out there, but very few personalized by J5 -- tell him to keep his distance and go find another. :-)
