Some of those old Teisco pickups are great for slide guitar, so I wouldn't be too quick about destroying it...

...those pickups might be highly prized by some Texan who is anticipating a Slide-O-Caster build...hint, hint...

this is true . i cant tell you how many old pickups i threw away over the years but in with them were some of the foil backed mustache pickups and a few othere that not knowing better were worth over 100 bucks each to collectors. ive seen them a few times on ebay for those prices.

also if you want to fix it up . if nothing else it will be a good learning experience. better to learn on a guitar like this early in the game. also one more thing .it could be an old worthless piece of junk thenit might be a gem to the right person. my first electric was a old red kay sg. two cheap pickups and a very similar tremelo to the one on your guitar. well that was 40 years ago. last year i saw one come up on ebay cheap. i thought well ill buy it for nastalgia sake.. it ended up selling for ..... $ 450.00 .. someone must have really wanted it. before you make your decision id suggest going on ebay.. in the vintage guitar section and see if you can find one like it.. look under kent teisco and other names will come up on top to look through. you might be surprised at what some people consider junk is going for.

I'm still trying to figure what the guitar is that I am playing in my sig photo from the late 60's.
Well, you obviously have a better chance of that than we do. After all, you were playing it! Is that the only picture you have? I can only say that it looks a little... odd...

That's the only photo I have. The original is about 4X6 taken with an old Kodak Instamatic 126. The resolution is horrible and the name plate on the headstock is unreadable.

I have been told that it may be a Winston made by Teisco. This is the closest photo I could find. I don't remember if mine had a whammy bar.

Here is mine or comparison.

I don't know which would be more valuable today, the guitar or the strap.
