lol...................i go to drop d because i like to to keep my trem floating and still change tunings. there are times i go to drop c and play a little black label but for the most part it's less hassles to just go to d. and if you look very hard you will notice TEH is really spelled THE. you might tell Zakk Wylde he still records some tunes in d.

I usually use standard tuning, but when I'm playing certain songs (such as ones by Nirvana and Escape the Fate) I play using drop D and drop C

No. Not even on the 12-string.

There's enough of a challenge playing half-bleep decent in concert pitch for this picker.

I use open E for slide, and E flat for my regular tuning. I really like E flat for blues because it's easier to bend the strings. 8)

I do alot. most of my favorite metal bands use lower tunings like drop two steps. i use my SG specifically for that, since my humbuckers get a chunkier sound then my tele or other single coils (and most of my other humbucks as well!)

I do more alt tuning on my acoustic (taylor) than on my strat.

Some more common ones on my acoustic...
DADGBE
DADGAD
DADGBD
DGDGAD
DADGCC

For electric, sometimes...
DADGAD
DADGBE
DADF#AD

I was recording a song once with a run that is repeated around a hundred times... to make it easier on my hand, I tuned:

E A C# G B E

And then put a capo on 1.

That way I only had to move my fingers twice - saving me a lot of mistakes.
