First Act guitars are horrible. Then again you have to start somewhere.

After a while you learn that buying First Act is a TERRIBLE mistake. Just my view personally, start out on something that doesn't sound like crap (or in this case, like a plywood box), like a Fender or Epiphone.

agreed. I think that if someone starts off with something like a first act they'll easily get frusterated with it and not want to go on. Not that you need to go and spend tons of money on a first guitar if you don't know if you like it yet, but I think if you get a cheap guitar, you proabably won't get the satisfaction you would if you went with something better.

Why is everyone down on Epiphones? From my experience they are pretty good guitars (I hate to say it, but compared to squires I like them a lot better.

Especially if they're well set up. Bought a Epiphone Les Paul Standard and its tone is, if not warmer, than my 1961 Gibson Melody Maker. I've also never had trouble with it (maybe its because it was set up by professional musicians at the shop I bought it from).

There's sure nothing wrong with this Epi. Joe Pass commemerative Emperor Regent II. It comes with Gibson electronics all through it. Not only does it play like a dream, it's the Nicest Looking Guitar I have.

I was looking for a Picture of a Mako, the cheap guitars a lot of my friends learned on in the '80s. I was just lucky enough something worse than I was looking for. This is a Jay Turser "Jay Shark" it's yours for a mear 331 dollars

I'm also not a big fan of Jackson guitars. The pickups except for the ones with EMGs or Seymours set in them are any good really from what I understand. And I usually go with the stock pickups in the guitar because I think they sound good, so I never have to replace them.

But honestly, why would anyone buy a guitar in which you didn't like the pickups, JUST so you could replace them about a few days later? If you don't like the sound of the guitar, don't buy it. Sheez lol, (no offense intended to anyone out there.)

I agree with the wangcaster. I feel sorry for myself that I looked it up.
Everyone who hasn't seen it should look it up. It's very nice!
