I was in Scottsdale AZ earlier this week to take in some spring training GO GIANTS! and while there, I planned to visit Fender's corporate headquarters and hopefully meet our Fearless Forum Moderator. Due to some technical (cell phone) difficulties, I was not able to call ahead, but decided to take my chances on a drop in. I asked for Brad at the front desk, and although he was in a meeting, he came and greeted me and told me if I could wait a bit, he would be happy to give me a look around. No problem, since there were a number instruments hanging around the lobby. I made myself at home annoying the poor receptionist; probably a good thing they didn't have any amps in there

After his meeting finished, Brad came back and offered me a tour around the building. Brad could not have been nicer, especially since I was cutting into his lunch! No, I did not ask for any insider info like the forum guitar project, but we did talk about the early days of the forum (some may remember when Brad started this as his own pet project with little to no front office support, and it was only open from 8 to 5 Scottsdale time). Lots of cool stuff to admire including a 1954 Stratocaster (behind glass, of course), provenance yet to be determined by Brad.

Thanks again, Brad, I really appreciated your time showing me around. And I know the rules, pics or it didn't happen, so here you go. Apologies in advance for the poor cell phone picture quality.

Yeah - though that would mean Brad would never get any lunch!

Cheers - C

Great stuff! Looks like you had a great time - I can see a forum flash mob happening in one of Brad's next lunch hours ;-)

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Ditto on them all. It's on my bucket list for sure. BTW: In Tucson, there's a club called "The Tremolo Lounge" [I believe] owned and operated by one "Gratz", [Paul Gratz Blackwell] a charter Forum member of ours. If you ever find yourself that way again, you might want to check it out.
