Wow that's some collection you got there! Did you install the strings backwards on that lefty strat?

Thanks folks,I just noticed that we neglected to put in the pix of the '65 Jag and Mustang,Blinkers is coming over tomorrow and I will ask him if he could ad them to the pile. That is of course unless his hands aren't atrophied after using my computer that I use with a touchpad rather than a mouse.

EDIT: Blinkers just dropped by and put up the missing pix of the '65 Jag and Mustang.

The strings on the lefty Strat are set up for right hand playing. That kind of set-up allows you to use some of Jimi's tricks that he does on a flipped Strat that would be if not impossible, very very difficult.I think that this could very well be why he didn't switch to lefty Strats, even though he knew that they were available.

I see that a few people have made comments about the Firebird, she's an '06 Custom Shop due to the sunburst finish because most of the other Firebirds these days are either a solid colour, usually white or black or that fugly Worn Cherry colour. The tuning pegs are incredible and really tune accurately and hold their tuning indefinitely. The pickups in the Firebird are the regular issue Epi humbuckers as far as I know but the sound that comes from that guitar is simply incredible. The guitar sounds incredibly like a mid 60s SG,so much so that it's uncanny, I was just noodling around with it plugged into one or my Voxes one day and played the Paperback Writer lead riff,I was amazed that it nailed the exact tone of George Harrison's SG.The neck is a bit on the wide side with a wide radius that I would guestimate to be at least 9" but with the super light string gauges that I use it feels quite comfortable and great for leads. My darling better half gave it to me about 2 Christmases ago, even though it was used,it was near mint and even if it had been roughed up like it was dragged behind a car on a dirt road,I would have wanted it for that incredible tone.

A Strat and Tele pair with hidden pickups beneath their pickguards?

Or the pickup covers are painted to match the guard?

Hi Guys,You're both wrong on the pickguard covers. These covers are called Toppers and are also made by GreasyGroove and they are paper thin adhesive plastic film printed with the missing parts of the pattern. They certainly add to the overall effect of the guards and I haven't seen that done by any other pickguard makers.
BTW: Blinkers just dropped by and put up the pix of the missing Jaguar and Mustang. I'll have to leave him a guitar or two in my will for all the computer work he has done for me.
