I just read in Vintage Guitar Mag. yesterday that Rick Huxley, the thumping bass player of the Dave Clark Five, passed away on Feb. 11 and I hadn't heard a word about it until yesterday.Rick's heavy pounding, thumping bass was just the perfect accompaniment for Dave Clark's heavy, percussive drumming. This pair provided the bottom of such great hits as "Glad All Over","Bits And Pieces","At The Scene","19 Days","Got To Have A Reason" and many more.At least he lived long enough to be around when they finally and quite deservedly were inducted into the RRHOF-not that that's worth anything these days when schmaltzy groups like ABBA get inducted before them.God Bless You Rick Huxley, your lively unique pounding bass lines got millions of people out on the dancefloors of the world.

Great obit there, Guitslinger. DC5 were huge in my day. Saw their movie and there was a break in the middle and they came out on the stage and waved at all of the fans. The sound was deafening. The film was, "Having a Wild Weekend". Can't remember a thing about the plot. If there was one.
(Edit: As Arjay informs below, the film was Having a Wild Weekend)
I had a few of those that lasted a decade or so.

Their cover of the song, "Do you Love Me" was an early favorite of mine.

Thanks. I think you are right. I confused one of their songs for the title. Still doesn't help me remember the plot. I remember they ran a lot.

Thanks again for the clarification, Arjay.

Gotta see if my Amazon prime offers me this movie for free. :P
