But it's not quite what I expected.

I ordered an American Special Strat SSS in 2 Tone Sunburst, and the following is what I got:

I got a strat, but it was candy apple red, and the pick guard was duct taped on the front with no screws.

I ordered from http://www.super-crazy-fedners.com which seems to be down for some reason now. I can't get any customer support. Is this normal? (Yes fenders is spelled 'fedners').

Here are the pics:

It also came without strings, and was in a box that was WAY too big for the guitar. It was sliding around in the box when I got it and no bubble wrap or anything! No instruction manual, set up guide, alan wrench, etc.

When I plug in, I get no sound from positions 2-5. The volume only works when in full blast.

It sounds great though! I'm really happy with this American made guitar. Just wondering though, is this the norm when ordering online? I thought after putting out 800$ it would be a little more professional.

Cheers

I'm a bit.... shocked... I don't even know where to start! First of all, that's a Squier that clearly says "made in Indonesia", effectively a $150 guitar when everything works. You got royally screwed there, I mean this is one of the worst rip-offs I've ever seen in my life.

Send that thing back if you are able to and get your money back,...that is just plain wrong to receive a guitar other than what you ordered. No strings? Are you kidding me? And duct tape holding the pick guard? Friend,...you got cheated BIG TIME! To receive it in a box that was too big for it and the fact it was sliding around in there! Buy from Sweetwater,...I have heard LOTS of good things about them,...and in fact, that is where I am going to buy my instrument. I kindly encourage you to check them out,...NO guitar leaves their facility WITHOUT going through a 55 point inspection first.

They're gone. He's out of $800 and with a damaged $150 guitar. Live and learn, buy from reputable online stores like musicians friend, amazon, sweetwater, zzsounds just to name a few.

That is a darn shame to be out that much money, and not to mention the guitar being badly damaged! Stinks to see someone get cheated like that!

Sounds pretty hokey to me.

Like the kid who had a bonafide "Stratacaster"......

He did post pics though, but I can't get over the fact that he still thinks its an AmStd when it clearly says Squier made in Indonesia on the headstock!

Early April Fools joke?
